Of course, that was the beginning of along association between Emil Sitka and the Three Stooges. Over the next twenty years, he would appear in over forty of the Stooges films. Emil fit in perfectly with their comedy. Having appeared in many, many stage plays gave him the versatility to execute a diverse array of roles such as professors, lawyers, and ministers in a very convincing manner that played well against the antics of the Stooges.
Emil's penchant for pantomime and physical humor served him well, right from his first role, as Sappington the Butler. Not only is there an elaborate "formal dining" pantomime episode, but Emil gets trampled and his face stepped on, then takes some serious pie in the face! And this was Emil's very first role with the Boys! It's obvious that Emil also possessed the appropriate sense of humor for Stooge comedy.
