| Emil with his family. |
During this time, Emil met and married his wife "Sunshine" Donna Driscoll and started a family. Since
the small theater actors received no pay, Emil worked as a laborer by day and rehearsed and acted by night.
Although comedy and pantomime had become his forte, Emil did serious performances in dramatic plays as well,
such as "The Boor" by Anton Chekov, "Anna Christie" by Eugene O'Neill, "Time of Your Life"
by William Saroyan, "The Lower Depths" by Maxim Gorki, and "Depression Island" by Upton Sinclair.
